Tissue for Research Unit

Nowadays, human sample acquisition is a critical step for a wide range of research activities.

Researches face many challenges in this area, firstly due to the legal and ethical issues that involves human tissue sourcing, and secondly the practical challenge of sourcing high quality, fully characterized specimens that are fit for use in a diverse range of analytical processes.

The Tissue for Research Unit of DTI Foundation has created a platform capable to coordinate the donation of human tissues and cells for biomedical research purposes, which encompasses strong collaborations with national and international procurement centers.

Tissue obtainment, from living and deceased donors, is possible thanks to the organization of a hospital network which includes donor detection and evaluation, tissue procurement and tissue processing, if needed. All these processes must be performed following the legal Spanish and European requirements to ensure quality, safety and traceability of the generated material
