Our team is composed of highly trained and experienced people in the fields of donation and transplantation, organs and tissues, research and management from several nationalities.

The President of the Foundation has the role to represent the Foundation worldwide throughout different kind of activities such as participation in congresses as invited speaker as well  as directing training activities and cooperation programs around the world. He is also a very important figure inside this organization, the reference person who leads and guides the Foundation. Martí Manyalich is a Medical Doctor,  PhD and has more than 30 years of experience in the field of organ, tissue and cells donation and transplantation. Nowadays,  he is the assessor on transplantation in the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, as well as  Associated professor at the University of Barcelona- Medical School. He is also a member of several  International societies  and his expertise in this field is globally recognized.

Completed her university studies in Biological Sciences, specializing in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, at the UAM (2002). Later, she obtained her doctorate in Molecular Biology from the same university (2006), obtaining the . In 2019, she expanded her executive training by completing a PMD (ESADE). For two decades, she has developed her scientific career in the field of Immunology (CSIC), Regenerative Medicine (McMaster University, Canada) and Oncology (IJC). She is responsible for a wide range of international scientific production of excellence, for the achievement of public and private competitive financing, and inventor of several international patents, licensed to industry. She co-founded the biotech company Leukos Biotech, being the CSO (Chief Scientific Officer). She has teaching experience in postgraduate degree, in different universities. She has supervised several doctoral theses, master’s and undergraduate degree final projects. Currently, she is an associate professor at the UB and UI1.

In charge of the cooperation projects of the DTI Foundation to improve and develop organ and tissues donation and transplantation at an international level.She is also a faculty member of the TPM training projects and coordinates grade and postgraduate programs of donation and transplantation of organs, tissues and cells training programs of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona.

Chloë Ballesté Delpierre MD, is associate professor at the Department of Surgery and Surgical Specialities of the Medical School of the University of Barcelona. Beneficiary of national and international interships, coordinator and member of several national, European and international projects she collaborates with TPM and Hospital Clínic of Barcelona since 2006.

Coordinates the research area of the foundation, both in training and in international cooperation. For this reason, advises team members on the research orientation of their activities, especially promoting the scientific aspect of the Foundation. Directs the Scientific Committee of the Foundation, and is also founder of DTI Foundation and member of the Board of Trustees. 

Ricard Valero, MD, PhD, is associate medical professor of anaesthesiology at the Department of Surgery and Surgical Specialities at the University de Barcelona (Division IV) and head of neuroanesthesia, Anesthesiology Department, Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. He is Senior Specialist and collaborating physician since 1990 with the Transplant coordination at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.

The Institutional Relations Department aims to improve the positioning and image of the Foundation, as well as to maintain and get grants and aid. It is also responsible for developing volunteering and organizing solidarity actions to get sponsors.

Degree in Romance Languages and Translator-Interpreter at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He has also done a course in Economic Management and Hospital Management in EADA. Since 1984 has experience in Hospital Management because she is Responsible for Economic and Customer Management in the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. Moreover, since 1993 is responsible for economic and administrative TPM project.

Estephan is charge of coordinate and develop projects related with the procurement of fresh human tissue to clinical, research and advanced therapies purposes.

He has a degree in Biology, specializing in biotechnology, with master Donation and Transplantation of tissues, organs and cells from the University of Barcelona.  He has been beneficiary of numerous traineeship in this area. His currently research is beeing carried out based on an analysis of the effects of variables pre-, intra-and postoperative organ donor on the isolation and obtained cell viability.

She is TPM course coordinator since 2004. She has a degree in English Philology at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona. She has also an Executive Assistant Course and a Master in Translation and Localization.

The Department of administration manage all aspects related to the financial part of the Foundation, both of suppliers as clients.

Working at the Foundation since 2009 as administrative assistant she has experience in the field of administration and training in international secretariat. She is also responsible for the registration of participants to the TPM courses and coordinator of those who attend advanced courses in Spain.

Clara carries out the tasks related at Assistance of the President, managing and coordinating the events and meetings where the President is involved.She is also in charge of the Presidency communication, aswell as monitoring the agreements in which the President is related.

She has a Law Degree from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a Postgraduate in Conflict Resolution and Peace Culture from the Peace School (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona). She has a background in management and administration.

Professional with experience in the biomedical sector, specifically in obtaining human liver samples, with substantial knowledge in the implementation of EU projects and great communicative skills.

Joaquim has a degree in Biotechnology from the University of Barcelona and in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the Pompeu Fabra University. He has also completed the International Master in Donation and Transplantation of Organs, Tissues and Cells at the University of Barcelona, and a Master in Project Management at LaSalle (Ramon Llull University).

Joaquim collaborates in the development of new proposals and coordinates different projects within the Tissue and Cells Unit. In some of these, he also actively participates in the scientific part, supporting the research groups. On the other hand, he also supports DTI Foundation projects related to innovation and robotics.

Dr. Alvarez works at the DTI Foundation coordinating international cooperation projects to help improve donation and transplantation networks in the world, while also participating in training and innovation activities.

Brian Alvarez, MD is an intensive care specialist and coordinator in organ procurement and transplantation with training in Argentina. He provides with an extensive experience in critical care medicine, as well as organs and tissues procurement. With his vocation towards teaching, he has built over the years his teaching profile and pedagogical knowledge that turn him into a high-quality professional. He completed the International Master’s Degree in Organ, Tissue and Cell Donation and Transplantation at the University of Barcelona.

Seow Huey works coordinating the training, research, consultancy and other DTI developmental and cooperation activities in China. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a PhD in Molecular Epidemiology. She previously worked in an EU project that develops and implements a postgraduate program on organ donation and transplantation in Southeast Asia.

“One deceased donor can save up to eight lives through organ donation and can save and enhance more than 100 lives through the lifesaving and healing gift of tissue donation. Make it possible is our duty.”

Sandra coordinates European and International Projects, participates in the preparation of new proposals as well as supports the Fundraising Unit of DTI.

She has two Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and Social Education and a Master in International Relations by IBEI. She previously worked in private consultancies related with the development of European and International Projects.

Marta is documentar with more than 15 years of experience in the field of business and healthcare administration.

She carries out the management of the Chinese delegation, coordinates activities related to innovation and robotics. He also collaborates in the management of national and international projects.

Carles has a bachelor’s degree on Sociology at the University of Barcelona. He also has experience in project management. He is involved in the coordination of the foundation’s project in UAE and assists in different projects of the Foundation.

Jordi Saura has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science at the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona. Specialised in biotechnology and automated programming. He helps coordinate courses, manages the warehouse and gives technical support to the Foundation since 2014.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of Kent. She specialised in marketing and communication and as part of the Marketing team she carries out the communication and marketing strategy of the Foundation.

PhD at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Pécs, Hungary.

Educational background: Registered nurse (RN), Bachelor of arts (BA), Master Degree in Project Management and one year postgraduate program in European Studies organized by CIFE (Centre International de Formation Européenne) in collaboration with Jean-Monnet Chair for Political Sciences and European Affairs, University of Cologne, and with the support of the European Union.
