Belt & Road Organ Donation Capacity Improvement Cooperation Training Project Program

The Belt & Road Organ Donation Capacity Improvement Cooperation Training Project Program was co-organized by DTI and COTDF. The 4th edition of the training took place between July 26th to 28th. A total of 67 healthcare professionals from 11 different countries participated in the program.

Participants learnt about the current situation of organ donation and transplantation in China to start the program followed by the introduction of models among countries with the highest donation rate in the world such as Spain, USA, Brazil and Iran. They were taught about the main aspects of the organ procurement process: donor detection, brain death diagnosis, donor management, and family approach. The training was complemented with workshops which allowed participants to involve interactively to strengthen the concepts they had learnt. 

The program used an interactive and dynamic online modality consisting of round table discussion, presentation of clinical cases, gaming, and workgroup interaction.
