Kunming, capital of the Yunnan province has hosted for the third time an Advanced Training Course in Transplant Procurement Management (TPM) from the 10th to the 13th of September.
The group of DTI international experts had the privilege of visiting the Kunming OPO offices in The First People´s Hospital of Kunming on the 9th, the day prior to starting the course. This visit was crucial to further assess and analyse the organ donation program in the Yunnan province. The visit was also the perfect opportunity for them to learn about organ donation in China and corroborate the astounding continuous improvements.
Dr Chao Li, OPO director facilitated the ideal forum for the internationals and local experts to exchange expertise.
The 60 participants of the course learnt organ donation practices from the DTI experts from Brazil, Spain, Italy, Portugal, USA and Germany encouraging them to improve and develop new clinical protocols.
The 13th of September in the afternoon the DTI experts joined the Organ Donation Ethics Committee in The First People´s Hospital during the process of a donation approval, the DTI team was also invited to take part in the donor honor act before organ recovery.
DTI Foundation and the Kunming OPO (KMOPO) will continue to collaborate with the goal of improving the organ donation rate in the Yunnan province.
